As an ambassador, you will collaborate with Oslo Convention Bureau on the mutual goal of getting a future event within your professional field to Oslo.
Oslo Convention Bureau's ambassador network consists of key figures within various academic and research communities in Oslo, who want to highlight their field of research internationally by hosting a conference.
Our specialty at Oslo Convention Bureau is to assist local professionals in applying for and planning international conferences. We support our ambassadors throughout the planning phase, from the first stages in the bidding process and up until the event takes place.
Together we develop the network, learn from each other, and promote our different areas of expertise. Together, we strengthen Oslo as an international conference city.
All services in the ambassador program are free of charge.

Why do we work with international conferences?
Our main goal at the Oslo Convention Bureau is to locate, motivate and help Norwegian academic and research communities, institutions, and organizations to take on the responsibility of hosting international conferences.
Internationally leading conferences contribute to innovation and development, to highlighting and encouraging the Norwegian academic and research communities, and to showcase Norwegian competence and leadership strengths at large. They also boost Oslo's hospitality industry and generate a significant amount of guest nights.
Conferences attract visitors with high incomes and education. As most conferences take outside the high season, they contribute to a year-round tourism sector in Norway. On average, conference delegates generate more revenue for the destinations they visit than other travellers (source: Innovation Norway).

We at Oslo Convention Bureau support ambassadors throughout the planning phase, from the first step in the process and up until the event takes place.
We work closely with a large network of skilled local suppliers, including Oslo Municipality, conference hotels, activity providers and meeting planners. Here, academics, the city and the industry function as one cohesive unit.
